Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland (CNS), is recruiting two new Local Coordinators.
CNS is a distinctive community-based approach to improving outcomes for all children and young people in neighbourhoods with high levels of poverty. It is supported by commitments made within the Scottish Government’s Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan; Every Child, Every Chance: Tackling child poverty delivery plan 2018-2022.
The programme has six sites, four in urban areas, one in a small town and one in a rural community.
Working across this range of communities, CNS activity focuses on promoting the priorities of children and young people; and supporting partnerships and collaboration between organisations.
Priorities for action are distinctive to each area, responsive to existing local activity and demographics, and focused on developing context specific responses and local solutions. This work is led by a CNS Local Coordinator, who is based in the neighbourhood and is the visible presence of the programme locally.
